Season Comes to an End for WVU
South Florida won a see-saw affair with West Virginia 11-6 late Friday night in Florida to advance to the semi-final round. WVU finishes the tournament at 1-2 as the Mountaineers finish the season 37-18.
The Mountaineers scored first in the bottom of the first inning on Dan DiBartolomeo’s RBI that scored Jedd Gyorko who had walked with two out.
After South Florida tied the game with a run in the second, WVU got the lead back on Austin Markel’s 15th home run of the season. WVU made it 3-1 after Grant Bucker drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.
South Florida got a three run homer off the bat of Todd Brazeal to go up 4-3 in the fifth.
